Dear Divya,

Please change your excel file name suffix for.xlsx in your code because your original excel file is .xlsx file, and then it will work fine.

Dear Divya,

We still don't reproduce your problem, we use spire.Xls.dll(v6.8.5.7040), spire.Pdf(v2.5.15.7040), spire.License.dll(v1.2.2.40),spire.Common.dll(v1.2.3.7040) for .net4.0 in spire.xls_6.8.5 to do the test, also please make sure the xlsx file in the path C:\\PDFDocuments\\InstitutionalFolders_testing_xlsx.xlsx.

i got the same error with an .xml file saved in office 2010. if i try to open the file with Spire.XLS 6.9.3 "LoadFromFile" it throws this same exception. could you please streamline the load methods and incorporate the ".LoadFromXml" into the .LoadFromFile method. it is really inconvenient to distinguish an .xml from any other format each time i want to open a file via spire.

Did you mean that you use LoadFromXml method to load an .xml file is ok? If you didn't, could you please send your xml file to us? So that we can reproduce your problem, and quickly work out a solution for you. Also we can consider to incorporate the .LoadFromXml into the .LoadFromFile method in the futrue. Thank you!

yes, i can load the .xml file via ".LoadFromXml" normally, without the exception. only ".LoadFromFile" throws the exception.

I get the same error when loading an XLSX file.

I even try loading it as a workbook but same error.

Update: I get this error on any file I try to open. Am I missing an assembly?

Here is a code snippet. I'm using a MemoryStream because my files will be in memory in the real application.

Update 2: If I specify that this is Excel2010 it works. Anyway around this as I won't know what version the documents will be?
