I'm concerned that the Japanese calendar output is different between Spire.Pdf and Excel.
Please note that some parts are in Japanese language.

# Explanation of the difference

- Spire.Pdf output
- "日本年号令和6年1月19日"

- excel output
- "令和6年1月19日"

- Excel function
Code: Select all
=TEXT("2024/01/19","[$-411]ggge年m月d日")

# Points of concern

"日本年号" text is not required

# question
- Q1
- Is this output by design? bug?

- Q2
- Will this output continue in future versions?
- The first "日本年号" word added remains unchanged

# reference
Search the Microsoft site for the following sentence:
"[<=43585][$-ja-JP]ggge"?"m"?"d"?";[>=43831]ggge"?"m"?"d"?";ggg"??"m"?"d"?""

# Execution environment
- Spire.Pdf.dll 8.10.5.1420
- OS WIndows11/WindowsServer/Linux(Ubuntu other)
- Net6/Net8
- Microsoft Excel 2019

I hope for a good answer.
Yours sincerely

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Based on your description, I conducted initial testing and found that the value of the function in the Excel file is displayed as "令和6年1月19日". This result is consistent with the calculation result obtained when using Microsoft Excel.
However, when converting the Excel file to PDF using Spire.XLS Pack Version:14.1, the resulting PDF file displays the same result as you mentioned. After careful investigation, I have determined that this issue is a bug in our product. I have logged the issue into our bug tracking system with the ticket number SPIREXLS-5105. Our development team will investigate and fix it. Once it is resolved, I will inform you in time. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Sincerely,
Annika
